Story of my American Flag

This is my niece – Margie Michka with my American flag during one of our photo sessions.

in 1995 I was at SNU studying for my BS degree, one of my classmates was a Captain in the Air Force. He got in touch with our Congressmen in Washington DC and ask him to get a flag for me. This is not just a flag from Walmart, this is a flag that was flown over the capital of our nation for one day. (I had no idea that every day that they have a new flag there.)

I got my US Citizenship on the 4th of July. Next day at SNU my classmates and professors made a small ceremony and presented me with this flag.  They got my wife there as well, all as a total surprise for me. It was an awesome day and I felt as I was accepted into the family, my American family. I am so happy to be here!

Happy 4th of July to All!
